Retrofuturism: 20th century Paris?

23 Dec

Isn’t that a lovely image? It’s from a book published in 1883 entitled The Twentieth Century. You can find more resolutions and information here, on the useful Old Book Illustrations site. I’m still waiting for my personal flying machine, future!

Retrofuturism is an interesting word! What a wonderful site – this is a resource I haven’t seen before. I’ve been looking at working with archive material in virtual worlds – in fact my last video worked together an archive piece sourced out of the Prelinger archive (It’s up on Vimeo).
