Avatar therapy for schizophrenic patients

Via Slashdot, an intriguing application of avatar-based therapy: allowing patients with schizophrenia to create a visualization of the entities harassing them.  The patients then interact with the avatars, opposing their commands and taking control.

Fantastic stuff, actually being able to confront the voices in your head. I’ve got a post in the works about introspective self-analysis via avatar that connects to this, but it needs a bit more time in my brain before it rolls out my fingertips.
